What is particular
to Zephyr.

We repair Zephyr wall, island and under-cabinet hoods, power-pack inserts and downdrafts such as the Lift and Treviso, including Zephyr Essentials models like Firenze. Zephyr Connect hoods add Bluetooth and WiFi through the app, which we check along with the keypad.

Filter hours are counted

Depending on the model, Zephyr counts 30 or 60 fan hours before asking for clean mesh filters and 120 hours before asking for charcoal. The signal can be a letter, a blinking button or a scrolling sentence, so we match it to your model before touching anything.

An airflow cap called ACT

Airflow Control Technology lets the installer limit top airflow to meet local rules, which also removes speeds. Holding the power button with the hood off shows the setting, which settles many complaints about a hood that seems weaker than advertised.

A fan that runs on a schedule

Some Zephyr hoods have a Clean Air feature that turns the fan on every 4 hours for 10 minutes. A hood that starts on its own at night is often just this, not a stuck relay.

Power reset first

For most control problems Zephyr's own advice is to switch the breaker off for 5 to 10 minutes. We ask whether that has been tried, because it saves a visit when it works and points us to the control board when it does not.

Parts

Zephyr manuals list part numbers for LED modules, baffle filters and remote kits, and parts are sold through its online store. Blowers for downdrafts and some inserts are separate models, so we note the blower number as well as the hood.

Repair or replace

A control board, a keypad, an LED module or a blower is usually worth replacing on a Zephyr that is otherwise sound and installed at the right height. If the hood is undersized for the burners or the duct is too small, fixing the part will not fix the smoke, and that belongs in the conversation.

Why does my Zephyr hood turn on by itself?
Two common reasons are the Clean Air feature, which runs the fan every 4 hours for 10 minutes, and a remote paired on the wrong channel. Both are settings rather than broken parts.
What does Zephyr suggest when the controls stop responding?
Turn the breaker off for 5 to 10 minutes and back on. If the panel is lit but still ignores touches after that, the control board or keypad needs a technician.
Why do I feel cold air coming through my Zephyr hood?
Zephyr points to duct joints that are not sealed and a missing backdraft damper. A damper that flaps in wind usually comes back to the outside wall cap.
How high should a Zephyr hood hang?
Zephyr's guidance is to mount within the range the manual gives, as close to the minimum as you can, because a hood mounted too high misses smoke.
