What is particular

Speed 4 is a timed boost

On Falmec keypads the fourth speed runs only for a few minutes and drops to speed 3. A hood that seems to slow down by itself is often doing just that.

Installer speed limits

The Speed Reduction System lets the top speed be capped at 3 or 2. A hood that never reaches its full power may have SRS enabled rather than a weak blower.

Red means two things

A steady red light with the fan off asks for filter cleaning after about 30 hours, while a flashing red light is the 15-minute timer. Reading that difference avoids an unnecessary visit.

Power off first for a dead keypad

Falmec's booklets advise disconnecting power for about 5 seconds when the keypad is completely unresponsive. We ask whether that was tried, then test the board if it was.

Repair or replace

Falmec hoods are built from heavy stainless steel and glass, so a keypad, motor or LED failure is usually worth fixing. Where a hood hangs over a much larger cooking surface than it was sized for, a repair will not solve the smoke.

Why does my Falmec drop from speed 4 to speed 3?
Speed 4 is designed to run only a few minutes before stepping down. Press + again if you need another burst.
My Falmec keypad does nothing. What should I try?
Disconnect power for a few seconds at the main switch or breaker, then restore it. If the keypad is still dead, book a visit.
How often should I clean Falmec filters?
Every 30 hours of use, which the red filter light tracks; Falmec suggests at least monthly.
