Dacor range hoods,

Dacor's hood line is built around touch-control wall hoods (the Pro-Canopy and the chimney wall hood), island hoods and knob-controlled hood liners for a custom enclosure, plus downdraft vents for its own burners. The electronic hoods talk to Dacor cooking products over Bluetooth, so a fan that starts or stops on its own is often a pairing setting before it is a failed part.

What is particular

We work on Dacor Pro-Canopy and chimney wall hoods, 36-, 42- and 54-inch island hoods, 30-, 36- and 48-inch hood liners, and the Dacor downdraft vents for cooktops and ranges. Tell us whether your hood has a keypad or knobs, since the liners use knobs and have no filter alarm.

The Low button doubles as a filter light

On the Pro-Canopy and chimney wall hoods, the Low button blinks after every 50 hours of fan use to ask for clean filters. Holding Power for 3 seconds clears it, so a blinking Low button on its own is a reminder, not a control failure.

ConnectOn follows the burners

Once paired with a compatible Dacor cooking product, ConnectOn turns the hood fan on and off with the burners. A fan that seems to have a mind of its own usually has ConnectOn switched on, and pressing it again returns full manual control.

Auto heat-sensing on the keypad hoods

The Auto button lets fan speed rise and fall with the heat coming up from below, and it works even without a Bluetooth link. The liners do the same with an Auto On sensor that jumps to boost when it senses excessive heat.

Strip LEDs and ducting are separate calls

Dacor's troubleshooting sends a burned-out strip LED to service rather than to the owner. It also states that Dacor does not build or service the duct run to the outside, so weak suction from a crushed or undersized duct is an installer's fix, which we can check on the same visit.

Parts

Dacor hood parts, including strip LED assemblies and fan units, are ordered by the model and serial number, and the keypad hoods and the liners use different control parts. Filters for the downdraft vents are hand-wash only, so a damaged set means ordering new ones rather than trying the dishwasher.

Repair or replace

A keypad, strip LED, fan motor or Bluetooth module is worth repairing on a Dacor hood that is solidly mounted. On an older hood whose finish no longer matches a new cooking line, replacement can be weighed after the diagnostic.

Dacor range hoods.

Why is the Low button on my Dacor hood blinking?
Dacor uses the Low button as its filter alarm: it blinks after every 50 hours of fan use. Clean the filters, then hold the Power button for 3 seconds to clear it.
Why does my Dacor hood turn on when I light a burner?
That is ConnectOn at work: once the hood is paired with a compatible Dacor cooking product, the fan follows the burners on and off. Press ConnectOn again to switch the link off, or press Power to stop the fan.
My Dacor hood shut off by itself. Is the motor failing?
Check the timer first. The Timer adds 10 minutes per press, up to 99, and when it reaches zero its LED blinks for 5 seconds and the hood switches off. If the fan stops with no timer set, book a visit.
Can I change the LED strip in a Dacor hood myself?
Dacor's own troubleshooting sends a burned-out strip LED to service, so we do not suggest opening the hood for it. Book a visit and we will check the strip and its power supply together.
