La Cornue's US hoods are made to sit over its own French ranges: motorized Château hoods for the wall or an island, the CornuFé 90 and 110 chimney hoods, and a newer CornuFé collection of shaped hoods built around a liner. What is particular

The US site lists Château wall and island hoods, CornuFé 90 and 110 chimney hoods and the CornuFé Cascade, Euclid, Marquee and Loge hoods, and La Cornue also supplies inserts with blower, lights and remote for a custom hood. A Château hood's size code (LCH-950 up to LCH-1850) follows the range width it was built for.

A red switch behind the filters

Château hoods carry a latching red reset switch behind the grease filters. If it has been knocked to OFF, neither the buttons nor the remote will wake the hood, so it is the first thing we check on a hood that seems completely dead.

Blower size follows the cooker below

La Cornue fits a 1200 CFM blower to Château hoods over two-oven ranges and a 600 CFM blower over single-oven ranges. The hood is sized to the range below it, which matters when a blower or its duct is replaced.

Six lights that flash for the filters

After 30 hours of running, all six indicators on a Château hood flash together to ask for the grease filters to be cleaned. The same controller also turns the hood off by itself after four hours without anyone touching it.

The newer CornuFé shapes hide a liner

The Cascade, Euclid, Marquee and Loge hoods are shaped shells with a power liner inside, ducted with 8-inch pipe for 600 CFM and 10-inch for 1200 CFM. Work on the fan or lights happens at the liner, not the painted shell.

Parts

Château and CornuFé hoods are made to order in many colors and trims, so a painted panel or trim piece is a long-lead order through a La Cornue dealer. Blowers, lights and remotes are standard parts, but have the rating label details ready.

Repair or replace

A La Cornue hood is part of a matched range and often custom colored, so repair is almost always the answer. The only real replacement conversation is for a remote, a control board or a blower, never for the hood itself.

Questions about
La Cornue range hoods.

My La Cornue Château hood ignores the buttons and the remote. Where do I start?
Check that the breaker is on, then take out the grease filters and look for the red reset switch; pressed in is ON. After switching it on, press the light key on the remote a few times in the first 15 seconds to register the remote again.
Why are all the lights flashing on my La Cornue hood?
On a Château hood, six flashing indicators mean 30 hours of running have passed and the grease filters are due. Clean them, then press the run-on timer button to reset the count.
Why did my La Cornue hood switch itself off?
The Château controller shuts the hood down after four hours without a button press, which is normal. If it cuts out within minutes, book a visit for the controller and blower.
Does La Cornue make a hood insert for a custom hood?
Yes. La Cornue offers inserts with lights, blowers and a remote for owners who build a custom hood around their range, and we service those as well as the finished Château and CornuFé hoods.
