Book a visit

Book a range hood
repair visit.

One short form books a range hood visit, and no card details are asked for. Nothing is owed until someone has tested the hood and explained what the repair involves.

Three short steps, about a minute.

What the form asks,
and why.

What you write is read before the van sets out, which improves the odds that the capacitor, switch or bulb your hood needs is already on board. Sending the form commits you to nothing, and any price comes only after the diagnosis.

Have the model number to hand if you can find it: where the model label is covers the usual places.

Step oneThe hood and its trouble

Wall-mount, under-cabinet, island, a custom insert or a downdraft vent, the make, and whether the fan has quit, pulls weakly, roars, rattles, runs on by itself, sticks on one speed, drips grease or leaves the lights dark. That tells us who to send and which capacitors, switches, bulbs and damper parts to bring.

Step twoA day that suits you

Morning or afternoon, on the day that fits best around work, school pickups and dinner.

Step threeReaching the hood

Whether it hangs on a wall, under cabinets or from a high ceiling over an island, whether the duct runs through an attic or a roof, and a phone number for the day. Whether you own the place or rent it, the gate code, a parking spot, a cat that darts out: every detail saves time.

After you book,
the visit.

The three steps above are the booking. These four are what happens once a technician is in your kitchen.

What repairs cost
01

Airflow, speed by speed

Each fan speed is run in turn while the technician listens to the blower and checks the pull at the filters, then the lights, the keypad, the damper and the heat sensor are tried one by one. The chimney cover and the blower housing are opened by the technician, with the breaker off.

02

A figure before any work

You hear what failed and what fixing it comes to in the same conversation, then choose. When a new hood makes more sense than the part, the technician tells you so directly.

03

Common parts in the van

Run capacitors, speed switches, bulbs and LED modules, light drivers, damper flaps and some filters usually travel with us. A blower assembly, a control board, a keypad or a remote blower is made for one model and gets ordered; if the model number comes with the booking, the order can go in before the visit.

04

Pulling steam before we go

With the part fitted and the covers back on, a pot is brought to the boil and the steam is watched going up into the hood on every speed, the damper is checked for a clean open and close, and the hood is handed back to you working.

Before the
technician arrives.

Three things that make the first visit the only one.

What a code means

Leave the breaker off after sparks

After sparks, a burning smell or a breaker that tripped, do not switch the hood back on to see if it happens again. Keep its breaker off, cook on the back burners with a window open, and wait for us.

Note what the panel shows

A blinking filter light, letters on a display, one speed that no longer answers: write it down or take a photo. A code without the make and model beside it tells only half the story.

Clear the space below

Take the pots and pans off the burners, move anything stored on top of the hood or the cabinets beside it, and leave room for a ladder. Think back to when it started: a storm and an outage, a heavy frying night, a filter left out, a cabinet door that bumped the canopy.

Questions
about booking.

Is there a charge for asking for a range hood visit?
None. The request itself is free, and nothing is taken up front. No part goes in until the cause and its cost have been explained and you have agreed.
Where is the model label on a range hood?
On most hoods it is inside the canopy, on a side wall or the back panel, and shows once the grease filters are out. A custom insert has it in the same spot inside the liner, and a downdraft vent usually on its housing under the counter. If it is greasy, faded or gone, that stops nothing; we find it at the visit.
May I book the range hood visit over the phone?
Of course. You will find our number and hours at the top of each page. Calls and forms reach the same people, and on a crowded day a form often gets a reply first.
What if my range hood is not worth repairing?
You hear it at the diagnosis, with the reason, before anything is ordered. A worn-out blower in a basic under-cabinet hood and a failed capacitor on a costly island hood lead to opposite answers, and the visit is how we find out which one you have.
