What PAIRING
actually means.

Pairing mode is how a Zephyr hood learns an RF remote or connects to the Zephyr Connect app. On LCD hoods the ON/OFF and LIGHTS buttons blink slowly while PAIRING shows; on Connect models the Bluetooth graphic blinks. The window closes after 60 seconds or once something pairs.

What to do when PAIRING shows on the range hood

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Zephyr's own guidance for PAIRING on its range hoods. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Press a button on the remote, or finish the steps in the app, while the screen still shows pairing.

02

To cancel on an LCD hood, press ON/OFF.

03

If the remote will not pair, replace its battery, keep it within about 15 feet, and try a power reset at the breaker; book a visit if it still fails.

Cleared?

The code is gone and the blower pulls steam up on every speed again without a new part. If it returns this week, or the filter reminder keeps coming back right after a cleaning, mention it in the booking.

What not to do

Pairing is not a locked keypad. The Bluetooth icon may keep blinking for the full 60 seconds even after a phone connects, which Zephyr calls normal.

What you may
notice with it.

The range hood problems PAIRING tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range hood before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

The hood is doing something it was told to do, not wearing out: a delay-off timer that keeps the blower running for some minutes after the burners go off, a heat sentry that starts the fan by itself when it senses a hot pan, a Sabbath setting that locks the keys and dims the lights, or a link to the cooking surface that sets the speed on its own. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual, or simply waiting, ends it.

In Zephyr's own words

Both the ON/OFF and LIGHTS button will slowly blink while "PAIRING" appears on the LCD.

Questions
about PAIRING.

Can I clear PAIRING myself?
Press a button on the remote, or finish the steps in the app, while the screen still shows pairing.
Why does my Zephyr remote not work?
Check the battery first, stay within about 15 feet, and re-pair it. Zephyr also suggests cutting power at the breaker for 5 minutes with the remote near the hood, then restoring it.
How do I start pairing on a Zephyr LCD hood?
With the hood off, hold ON/OFF and LIGHTS together for 3 seconds.
Why does my Zephyr turn on by itself?
Zephyr lists a remote paired on the wrong channel as one cause. Re-syncing the remote to a different channel usually ends it.

Still showing PAIRING?

Three things make the booking useful: the letters or blink pattern exactly as they showed, the full model number from the label behind the filters, and whether the fan still moves air on every speed. With those, the technician arrives with half the answer already worked out.
