Bosch "End": the timer or the ten-minute shut-off has finished

Bosch wall hoods have a kitchen timer that does nothing to the fan, and a delay shut-off that runs the fan and lights for ten minutes before switching them off.

Three short steps, about a minute.

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Bosch's own guidance for End on its range hoods. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Nothing is needed; End clears on its own.

02

To start the delay shut-off again, choose a fan speed and hold the Timer key for three seconds.

03

If the fan keeps running after End appears, book a visit.

Cleared?

The code is gone and the blower pulls steam up on every speed again without a new part. If it returns this week, or the filter reminder keeps coming back right after a cleaning, mention it in the booking.

What not to do

End is not a shutdown caused by overheating or a power problem. The ten-minute delay length is fixed on these hoods, so a shorter run-on is not something the settings can explain.

What you may
notice with it.

The range hood problems End tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range hood before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

The hood is doing something it was told to do, not wearing out: a delay-off timer that keeps the blower running for some minutes after the burners go off, a heat sentry that starts the fan by itself when it senses a hot pan, a Sabbath setting that locks the keys and dims the lights, or a link to the cooking surface that sets the speed on its own. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual, or simply waiting, ends it.

Questions
about End.

Can I clear End myself?
Nothing is needed; End clears on its own.
Does the Bosch hood timer turn the fan off?
No. The plain timer is only a kitchen reminder. The delay shut-off, started by holding Timer for three seconds, is the one that switches the fan and lights off.
Can I change the delay shut-off time on a Bosch wall hood?
Not on these models. It is fixed at ten minutes.
How do I stop a Bosch delay shut-off early?
Press any key. The countdown ends and the hood stays as you set it.

Back to your everyday

Still showing End?

Three things make the booking useful: the letters or blink pattern exactly as they showed, the full model number from the label behind the filters, and whether the fan still moves air on every speed. With those, the technician arrives with half the answer already worked out.
