Zephyr HELLO or GOODBYE on the LCD: greetings, not warnings

Zephyr LCD hoods greet you with HELLO for a few seconds as the controls come on, including when proximity sensing wakes them as you walk up.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 398-3217

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Zephyr's own guidance for HELLO on its range hoods. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

No action needed.

02

If HELLO appears and the keys then ignore you, cut power at the breaker for 5 to 10 minutes and try again.

03

Book a visit if the screen stays blank or the controls never respond.

Cleared?

The code is gone and the blower pulls steam up on every speed again without a new part. If it returns this week, or the filter reminder keeps coming back right after a cleaning, mention it in the booking.

What not to do

HELLO is not a reset after a power problem. A controls panel that lights up by itself when you walk past is the proximity sensor, not a ghost press.

What you may
notice with it.

The range hood problems HELLO tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range hood before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

The hood is doing something it was told to do, not wearing out: a delay-off timer that keeps the blower running for some minutes after the burners go off, a heat sentry that starts the fan by itself when it senses a hot pan, a Sabbath setting that locks the keys and dims the lights, or a link to the cooking surface that sets the speed on its own. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual, or simply waiting, ends it.

In Zephyr's own words

“HELLO” will appear on the LCD display for 2 seconds.

Questions
about HELLO.

Can I clear HELLO myself?
No action needed.
Why does my Zephyr light up when I walk into the kitchen?
Proximity sensing wakes the controls as you approach and shows HELLO. They switch off after 60 seconds if unused.
Is GOODBYE on my Zephyr an error?
No. It is shown for a few seconds each time the hood is turned off.
My Zephyr says HELLO but nothing responds. What now?
Zephyr's first step is a power reset at the breaker for 5 to 10 minutes. If the keys still ignore you, the touch board needs a look.

Back to your everyday

Still showing HELLO?

Three things make the booking useful: the letters or blink pattern exactly as they showed, the full model number from the label behind the filters, and whether the fan still moves air on every speed. With those, the technician arrives with half the answer already worked out.
