What LED flashing (Power Boost)
actually means.

Holding button 3 for two seconds starts Power Boost, a speed above high. The LED flashes while it runs, and when the time is up the blower goes back to the speed it had before; the XOB and XOT hoods run it for six minutes, the XOI inserts and the ceiling vent for ten.

What to do when LED flashing (Power Boost) shows on the range hood

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from XO's own guidance for LED flashing (Power Boost) on its range hoods. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Let Power Boost run out, or press button 3 to stop it early.

02

Use it only while you need the extra draw; the hood returns to your last speed afterward.

03

If the LED flashes but the fan gets no louder, book a visit to check the blower and board.

Cleared?

The code is gone and the blower pulls steam up on every speed again without a new part. If it returns this week, or the filter reminder keeps coming back right after a cleaning, mention it in the booking.

What not to do

The flashing LED is a timer indicator, not a warning. On a hood whose Code Compliance Control was set to 395 CFM, Power Boost is switched off and will not start.

What you may
notice with it.

The range hood problems LED flashing (Power Boost) tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range hood before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

The hood is doing something it was told to do, not wearing out: a delay-off timer that keeps the blower running for some minutes after the burners go off, a heat sentry that starts the fan by itself when it senses a hot pan, a Sabbath setting that locks the keys and dims the lights, or a link to the cooking surface that sets the speed on its own. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual, or simply waiting, ends it.

In XO's own words

press BUTTON 3 for two seconds and it will be activated for 6 minutes after which it will return to the previously set speed.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. XO XOB and XOT hoods: six minutes. XOI22SC/XOI28SC inserts and XOCEILING vents: ten minutes. Most models listing Power Boost on their spec sheet share it.

Still showing LED flashing (Power Boost)?

Three things make the booking useful: the letters or blink pattern exactly as they showed, the full model number from the label behind the filters, and whether the fan still moves air on every speed. With those, the technician arrives with half the answer already worked out.
