What Filter light on
actually means.

These Wolf hoods keep the same 100-hour count as the black model but show it as a lit filter key rather than letters. On the ceiling-mounted hood the same light also stands in for the charcoal filters of a recirculating setup, which Wolf says should be replaced after 200 hours. The light stays on until the filter key is held.

What to do when Filter light on shows on the range hood

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for Filter light on on its range hoods. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

With the hood off and cool, take the mesh filters out and wash them.

02

Refit the filters, then press and hold the filter key for five seconds to turn the light off.

03

On a recirculating ceiling hood, replace the charcoal filters when the 200-hour mark comes around.

04

Book a visit if the light will not clear or comes straight back.

What not to do

A lit filter key is not a blower or wiring problem, and the hood keeps working normally while it is on. On the black glass version the same reminder appears as FG instead of a light.

Questions
about Filter light on.

Can I clear Filter light on myself?
With the hood off and cool, take the mesh filters out and wash them. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Where is the filter key on a Wolf ceiling-mounted hood?
The ceiling hood has a control panel on its right side and can also be run from its remote. The filter light sits on that panel and is cleared by holding its key for five seconds.
Can I keep cooking with the Wolf filter light on?
Yes, the hood works as usual, but grease builds up in the mesh the longer you wait. Wolf ties frequent cleaning directly to lowering grease fire risk.
Why did the filter light come on sooner than I expected on my Wolf hood?
The count is blower hours, not calendar time. Running the fan through long simmering, or leaving it on while the kitchen airs out, adds hours quickly.

Still showing Filter light on?

Three things make the booking useful: the letters or blink pattern exactly as they showed, the full model number from the label behind the filters, and whether the fan still moves air on every speed. With those, the technician arrives with half the answer already worked out.
