What G
actually means.

The CID364DTB4 pulls air down through the middle of the surface into a grease filter under a lift-out cover. Its maintenance alert is off from the factory; once enabled, it lights FILTER and shows G for the first ten seconds after you switch on.

What to do when G shows on the range hood

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Fisher & Paykel's own guidance for G on its range hoods. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch off and wait until the surface is cool.

02

Lift out the filter cover, rotate the grease filter to remove it, and clean both.

03

Refit them, then press and hold the filter key to clear the alert.

04

If FILTER stays lit after a proper refit, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into range hood filter and baffle service. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

G is not a cooking zone code. If FILTER stays lit after the reset, the filter is probably not seated right rather than broken.

What you may
notice with it.

The range hood problems G tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range hood before anyone is booked.

Yes, a separate carbon filter alert can be enabled in the same menu.

Still showing G?

Three things make the booking useful: the letters or blink pattern exactly as they showed, the full model number from the label behind the filters, and whether the fan still moves air on every speed. With those, the technician arrives with half the answer already worked out.
