Thermador's troubleshooting table files this sound under buttons pressed in a way the control will not accept. It is a message about the request, not a sign that anything inside the hood has failed. The tone can be switched off or back on from the keypad or from the Home Connect app. Thermador range hood display What to do when Two short beeps shows on the range hood ### Kind of code Control board and keypad The electronics that read the keys and switch the fan and the lights have flagged a problem with themselves: a key the board thinks is held down, a membrane keypad worn through or soaked with grease and steam, a speed relay that stuck closed, or a board that lost its settings in a surge. A breaker reset clears a one-off; a code that returns, or a hood that ignores its keys entirely, needs the keypad and the board tested. ### Usually leads to Range hood control board repair Testing and replacing the board behind a keypad or touch strip: the relays for each speed and the lights, the timers and the power supply. ### Shows up as Reading a Range Hood Error Code or Blinking Light A range hood error code may appear as letters and numbers on a display, a light that blinks in a pattern, a filter reminder that will not clear, or a beep with the fan refusing to start. ### Make Thermador Thermador hoods, inserts and downdraft vents are repaired on a home visit that begins by watching the owner run the fan. ### Source Thermador Masterpiece Custom Insert Hoods Use and Care Guide (VCI) Masterpiece hoods (VCI, HMCB, HMIB, HDDB) and Professional Series hoods (PH, VCIN, HPCN). ## Before you book, in this order. Check what the hood is already doing, such as a running delay timer or a Wi-Fi pairing step, and let it finish or cancel it before pressing the new key. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What makes a Thermador hood answer a key with two beeps? The control is refusing a request it cannot carry out in its present state, often because another function or a pairing step is still active. Cancel that first and press the key again. ### Can I turn off the beeping on my Thermador hood? Yes. Hold FILTER and LIGHTS together for three seconds, or change the control tone setting in the Home Connect app. ### My Thermador hood beeps twice at every key. Is the keypad failing? If nothing else is running and every key is refused, the touch control or the board behind it may have failed. That needs a technician to test it. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador two short beeps: the hood cannot do what that key asked](https://rangehooderepair.center/error-codes/thermador-two-short-beeps/)** **[Book a visit with RangeHoodeRepair.center](https://rangehooderepair.center/schedule/)**
