Gaggenau hoods keep a running tally of fan hours and, at 30 hours, blink the saturation display for the grease filter. On the 400 series wall hood the same reminder shows as the saturation button flashing. It stays until the saturation button is pressed while it blinks. Gaggenau range hood display · also shown as Grease filter saturation button flashes What to do when Saturation display blinking shows on the range hood ### Kind of code Filter reminders The hood has counted enough hours of fan time to ask for its filters: the mesh or baffle grease filters want a wash, or on a recirculating hood the charcoal filters want replacing. Most hoods count hours rather than measure grease, so the light comes on whether the filters are clean or not, and it stays on until it is reset with the key the manual names. A reminder that returns straight after a reset, or a hood that still pulls weakly with fresh filters, is worth a visit. ### Usually leads to Range hood filter and baffle service Cleaning or replacing what catches grease and odor: mesh and baffle filters, charcoal pads on recirculating hoods, and the grease channel. ### Shows up as Reading a Range Hood Error Code or Blinking Light A range hood error code may appear as letters and numbers on a display, a light that blinks in a pattern, a filter reminder that will not clear, or a beep with the fan refusing to start. ### Make Gaggenau A Gaggenau hood or downdraft vent is repaired where it is installed, after the technician has seen how its air leaves the house. ### Source Gaggenau AI 230 700 island hood Use and care manual 200 series island hood AI 230 700, visor hood AF 210, 400 series retractable downdraft AL 400 722/792, and the 400 series wall hood AW 442 (flashing saturation button). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Gaggenau's own guidance for Saturation display blinking on its range hoods. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Switch the hood off and let the filter cool before removing it. 02 Wash the metal mesh filter in the dishwasher or by hand, and refit it. 03 Press the saturation button while the display is still blinking to reset the count. 04 Book a visit if the reminder will not clear or returns at once. ### Still there? Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do A blinking saturation display is not a blower or wiring problem, and the hood keeps working. On the Vario downdraft the reminder is shown through the illuminated ring on the knob instead of a symbol. ## What you may notice with it. Switch the hood off and let the filter cool before removing it. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### How often will my Gaggenau hood blink for filter cleaning? Every 30 hours of fan time on these models. That can be a few weeks in a busy kitchen. ### Can I reset the Gaggenau reminder once it has stopped blinking? Reset while it is blinking, as the manual describes. Switch the hood on so the display shows it again, then press the saturation button. ### Can the Gaggenau metal filter be machine washed? Yes. The use and care manuals for these hoods describe washing the metal filter in the dishwasher, and Gaggenau's ventilation page calls the downdraft filters dishwasher safe. --- **[Read on the site: Gaggenau saturation display blinking: the metal mesh filter has 30 hours on it](https://rangehooderepair.center/error-codes/gaggenau-saturation-display-blinking/)** **[Book a visit with RangeHoodeRepair.center](https://rangehooderepair.center/schedule/)**
